Cornelius Skinner, the illegitimate child of an aristocrat, developed a penchant for gambling at an early age. He used his wealth to create and run illegal casinos and greyhound races.
When the Fazelli crime family offered Skinner the “opportunity” of fixing one of his races in lieu of a debt, Skinner reluctantly agreed. But, upon finding the fix involved a drug that would kill his favorite pet (a greyhound named Anubis) Skinner balked.
The Fazelli crime family took offense and tried to make an example of Skinner and his favorite pet. But, the attempt on his life fused Skinner and his pet.
